After two years of running under the same format and design, we have finally updated our poor, neglected blog. There's a lot of changes here, so let's get down to it.
First off, we've completely overhauled our backend, which we've used since the very beginning (unless you count our one-month stint with Blogger... we won't go there). Since the Nucleus CMS was never the best or most intuitive system around, I took the week to build one under Movable Type, which just hit 4.0 and because Galen was too busy working on a top-secret project gave me an opportunity to learn how to use it. However, in the commotion of a new engine, we did lose our archive. *weeps*
We've also revamped the blog aesthetically, too. I've been waiting to debut a dark color variant, so this was the perfect chance to finish it up, and each post's layout is a lot cleaner now. Categories have been simplified to Widgets, Website, Bugs, and Other, and in addition to having real post author names (not boring "Taco Widgets"), there's also some fun portraits of us, which will likely change frequently. Commenting has been disabled to avoid spam, but if the need arises we might turn it on again. And finally, as you can see at the top, we have a brand-new logo (designed by myself and Mason Sklar), which I hope will make its way into the rest of the site shortly.
But that's enough about that. For those of you wondering where the new stuff is, you'll be getting minor updates here and there over the next couple of months. In the midst these changes, however, we've got something really big in the pipeline that we hope to introduce later this year, so stick around and read on (or get the feed) for future updates!
